Floor Manager – Manufacturing

About the Role

Signage Products seeks a seasoned Floor Manager to oversee daily operations of the manufacturing floor based at Peenya Industrial Area, Bengaluru. This role demands comprehensive responsibility for managing production activities, ensuring timely and specification-compliant manufacturing outputs, and handling customer technical queries.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily shop-floor functions, allocate manpower and jobs per priority.
• Oversee fabrication, assembly, welding, grinding, finishing, etc., to meet production schedules and maintain workflow discipline.
• Read, interpret, and validate engineering drawings; communicate design details effectively to the production team and resolve discrepancies.
• Serve as the technical liaison for customer queries, ensuring clarity in production instructions and following up on pending details.
• Conduct quality control checks at various production stages, aiming to minimize defects, rework, and material waste.
• Coordinate closely with design, purchase, stores, and management to ensure material availability and monitor job progress.
• Manage, train, and evaluate fabricators, welders, helpers, and other shop-floor staff while promoting safe working practices.

Candidate Profile & Requirements

• Proven experience (5–10 years) in fabrication, machine-tool, sheet-metal, or industrial manufacturing environments.
• Strong capability to understand and work directly from engineering/fabrication drawings.
• Practical knowledge in fabrication and sheet-metal operations with excellent problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication skills for interaction with customers and internal teams.
• Experience managing production floors with ability to identify and resolve bottlenecks.
• Preferred knowledge includes machine-tool and industrial equipment manufacturing, familiarity with telescopic covers, bellows, wiper systems, rollway covers, apron covers, and basic AutoCAD understanding.
• Multilingual ability in Kannada, English, and Hindi is an advantage.
