King City Gardens (KCG) is a fast-growing cannabis enterprise founded in 2023, specializing as a Level 1 cultivator servicing both medical and recreational cannabis markets. Job Purpose
The Floor Care Specialist role focuses on preserving clean, safe, and well-maintained flooring throughout KCG's production, warehouse, and facility areas. This position entails daily upkeep and restorative maintenance of polished concrete, epoxy-coated surfaces, and other industrial hard floors through operation of specialized floor care machinery.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain various hard surface floors including polished concrete, epoxy coatings, vinyl composition tile (VCT), and sealed tiles.
- Operate industrial floor maintenance equipment such as ride-on and walk-behind scrubbers, sweepers, burnishers, concrete grinders, and mechanical strippers.
- Carry out routine and restorative floor care tasks including scrubbing, stripping, sealing, polishing, buffing, and burnishing.
- Utilize diamond pads, densifiers, sealers, protective guards, and chemical treatments to preserve and protect concrete surfaces.
- Maintain epoxy and resinous flooring by managing scratches, scuffs, wear, and minor surface imperfections.
- Accurately perform floor striping, aisle and safety markings to meet facility requirements.
- Inspect flooring for defects like cracks, spalling, damaged joints, peeling coatings, deterioration, and safety hazards.
- Report any major floor damage or safety concerns to Facilities Management promptly.
- Perform regular inspections and basic upkeep of floor care equipment.
- Handle, store, and apply industrial cleaning chemicals safely and according to company guidelines.
- Maintain organized, clean, and hazard-free work zones during and post maintenance activities.
- Operate safely around forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment.
- Adhere strictly to company safety procedures, personal protective equipment usage, sanitation protocols, and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of polished concrete, epoxy/resinous flooring, VCT, sealed tile, and other industrial floor types.
- Hands-on experience with commercial or industrial floor care and operation of related machinery.
- Proficiency in floor restoration steps such as stripping, sealing, polishing, buffing, and burnishing.
- Skilled in performing precise floor striping and safety markings.
- Ability to inspect and maintain industrial equipment safely.
- Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to maintaining clean and professional facility environments.
- Thorough understanding of workplace safety, PPE, chemical handling, and sanitation standards.
- Experience identifying flooring defects and safety hazards.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize duties efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
- Minimum 2 to 3 years of focused experience in commercial or industrial floor care environments.
- Proven experience working specifically with polished concrete and epoxy/resinous flooring.
- Experience within large-scale warehouse, manufacturing, production, or distribution facilities.
- Proficiency in operating ride-on scrubbers, sweepers, burnishers, mechanical strippers, and similar equipment.
- Competence using diamond pads and chemical treatments for floor care.
- Skilled in concrete polishing, floor restoration, or maintenance of hard surface floors.
Preferred Qualifications
- Expertise in concrete polishing and restoration techniques.
- Familiarity with industrial floor coatings and resinous flooring systems.
- Certification or experience in safely using warehouse material-handling equipment or lifts.
- Strong knowledge of industrial safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
- Certifications from industry bodies such as Concrete Polishing Council, OSHA 10 or 30 General Industry, forklift or scissor lift operation.
- Previous exposure to regulated environments such as manufacturing, production, warehouse, industrial, cannabis, food manufacturing, or pharmaceutical sectors.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach and perform repetitive physical activities for shifts lasting 8 to 10 hours.
- Capability to lift and carry weights up to 50 lbs without assistance.
- Skilled at operating and maneuvering industrial floor equipment over extended periods.
- Comfortable and safe working alongside forklifts, pallet jacks, and other handling equipment.
- Able to work under varying temperature and environmental conditions inside the facility.
- Willingness to consistently wear required personal protective equipment throughout shifts.

Compensation and Hours
Starting pay is $20 per hour, with the position scheduled for mid-day shifts.
