Job Summary

We are looking for a proactive Floor Care Technician to join our team in North York, Ontario. This role involves hands-on inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of floor care machines such as scrubbers and burnishers within our shop and occasionally on client sites. The ideal candidate must combine strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills with a dedication to safety and superior customer interaction.

Main Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair floor care and associated equipment.
• Utilize electrical diagnostic skills to quickly address equipment malfunctions.
• Perform daily servicing and repairs in a workshop setting.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure operational reliability.
• Assess defective equipment to decide necessary repairs or part replacements.
• Travel to client locations to deliver field service support when required.
• Verify repair effectiveness and safety compliance via testing protocols.
• Document all maintenance activities, including parts used and repairs conducted.
• Communicate effectively with customers regarding equipment conditions and repair guidance.
• Maintain organized, clean, and compliant workspaces.
• Assist in other service and maintenance duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with servicing or repairing floor care, industrial cleaning, or rental equipment.
• Familiarity with brands like Tennant, Husqvarna, or Bartell and related industrial machinery.
• Electrical troubleshooting skills complemented by mechanical aptitude covering electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
• Experience providing on-site field service and support to customers.
• Strong customer service, communication, and problem-resolution abilities.
• Capacity to independently manage multiple repair priorities efficiently.
• Physical ability to perform repetitive motions and handle equipment, including lifting up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Valid driver’s license necessary for travel to customer locations.
• Basic computer literacy for documentation and workflow management.
• Willingness to occasionally work weekends as per business needs.

Compensation and Benefits

Hourly wage ranges between $40 and $45 with comprehensive benefits and a minimum of three weeks paid vacation.
