About the Role

This is a significant leadership opportunity focused on enhancing fleet service market operations. The role demands ensuring consistent adherence to safety, compliance, and performance benchmarks. You will manage short-term, travel-intensive assignments across various regions, providing support to teams in challenging markets and bolstering overall operational capacity. This position integrates field leadership, client interaction, and practical operational problem-solving, requiring an individual capable of guiding teams through complex situations while achieving excellent customer results. A key aspect of this role involves training new managers, refining repair processes, and ensuring compliance with DOT/BIT regulations. It is a highly dynamic position ideal for a performance-oriented leader who excels in fast-paced, multi-location settings. Success hinges on strong executive communication, effective cross-functional collaboration, and data-informed decision-making.

Accountabilities

  • Lead fleet operations across designated territories, prioritizing safety, regulatory compliance, environmental standards, and operational quality.
  • Provide support and training to newly appointed fleet managers, while simultaneously improving team performance in markets facing challenges or underperforming.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of DOT, BIT, and other regulatory audits to mitigate compliance risks and operational interruptions.
  • Manage the repair order lifecycle, from scheduling to completion and closure, ensuring alignment with operational and client expectations.
  • Drive critical performance indicators, such as repair turnaround time, operational throughput, and technician productivity, to meet business and financial objectives.
  • Streamline inventory management and parts procurement to guarantee efficient and continuous operations.
  • Act as a primary point of escalation for client concerns, conducting thorough root cause analyses and implementing corrective actions with clear accountability.
  • Cultivate robust relationships with cross-functional departments including HR, Finance, Procurement, and operational leadership to ensure cohesive strategy and execution.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in fleet operations, field operations, logistics, transportation, or a comparable operational leadership capacity.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading teams within multi-site, field-based, or travel-heavy environments.
  • A solid understanding of operational key performance indicators (KPIs), workforce efficiency, and performance management methodologies.
  • Previous experience with compliance frameworks like DOT, BIT, or similar regulatory standards is highly advantageous.
  • Proven ability to effectively train, mentor, and develop both frontline staff and mid-level management.
  • A strong analytical aptitude for interpreting data and translating findings into actionable operational enhancements.
  • Exceptional communication skills, enabling effective stakeholder influence and escalation management.
  • A commanding leadership presence, capable of fostering a positive culture, driving accountability, and motivating high performance.
  • The capacity to excel in dynamic, evolving environments with fluctuating priorities and travel demands exceeding 50%.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, Logistics, or a related discipline is preferred.

Benefits

  • A competitive annual salary ranging from $100,000 to $110,000, with weekly payment cycles.
  • Eligibility for an annual bonus based on performance.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance plans.
  • Additional benefits including life insurance, disability coverage, and prescription drug plans.
  • A 401(k) retirement savings plan that includes a company match.
  • Generous paid time off, encompassing vacation days, public holidays, and sick leave.
  • Reimbursements for safety-related gear, such as work boots and prescription safety glasses.
  • Access to structured training and ongoing professional development, including internal learning resources.
  • Opportunities for employee referrals and recognition programs.
  • Resources for employee well-being and support, including an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and a 24/7 nurse triage service.
  • Employee discount programs and other lifestyle-related perks.
  • A commitment to an inclusive workplace, supported by employee resource groups.
