Job description
Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled professional to join our construction team as a Flagger responsible for maintaining safe and efficient traffic flow through construction zones in Coquitlam throughout the year. The company provides comprehensive training to ensure compliance with all traffic safety regulations and procedures.
Role Responsibilities
- Direct vehicular traffic movement at construction sites using signage, hand and flag signals.
- Interpret and apply traffic management plans effectively.
- Conduct field audits related to traffic management.
- Place traffic control signs and markers accurately following designated patterns.
- Alert construction personnel of approaching vehicles that do not comply with signals to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Guide drivers through detour routes around construction zones.
- Deliver excellent customer service by arriving punctually and efficiently managing work zones.
- Maintain equipment organization and operational readiness.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
- At least one year of relevant experience in traffic control.
- Knowledgeable about the 2015 Traffic Management Manual.
- Possess a valid Traffic Control Person (TCP) Certificate.
- Capable of working outdoors in various weather conditions common to construction sites.
- Physically able to reach above shoulder height, below waist level, and lift up to 50 pounds using proper techniques.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods.
