Job description
About the Role
We are looking for a skilled professional to join our construction team as a Flagger, focusing on managing traffic flow within Burnaby work zones throughout the year. You will receive comprehensive training to ensure adherence to all relevant regulations and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Manage and direct vehicular traffic safely through construction zones.
- Interpret and apply traffic management plans onsite.
- Conduct field audits related to traffic management.
- Set up traffic control signs and markers according to designated patterns at work sites.
- Utilize signs, hand signals, and flags to direct traffic movement on-site.
- Warn construction crews about vehicles not obeying signals to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Guide drivers through detour routes effectively and courteously.
- Deliver excellent customer service with punctual arrival and effective traffic zone management.
- Maintain and organize traffic control equipment in good working condition.
- Carry out additional related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Understanding of the 2015 Traffic Management Manual.
- Possession of a valid Traffic Control Person (TCP) Certificate.
- Willingness and ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions at construction sites.
- Physical capability to reach above shoulder level, below waist level, and lift weights up to 50 pounds using proper lifting techniques.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
