Position Overview

We invite motivated individuals to join us as a Maintenance Engineer/Fitter at the Mataura plant. This role involves maintaining, installing, and supporting operational equipment to minimize downtime and ensure smooth plant operations. Reporting directly to the mechanical supervisor, you will be key in planned preventative maintenance and equipment repair activities while upholding stringent safety standards.

Candidate Profile

  • Possess a relevant Fitter Trade Qualification
  • Minimum of five years experience in maintenance within an FMCG processing setting
  • Strong understanding of bearings, seals, gaskets, and alignment concepts
  • Familiarity with hydraulics, pneumatics, and conveyor systems
  • Capable of maintaining focus for long durations
  • Proficient analytical and troubleshooting abilities
  • Good communication and time management skills
  • Willingness and ability to work shifts

Key Responsibilities

Perform planned preventative maintenance tasks, maintaining machinery and processing equipment with excellent safety compliance. Diagnose root causes of issues, replace faulty components, and efficiently handle breakdown repairs to minimize business downtime.
