Role Summary

This full-time, on-site position, based in Doha, encompasses responsibilities as both a Fire Watcher and a Pipe Fitter. Key duties involve vigilance over hot work zones to ensure strict adherence to fire safety protocols, continuously monitoring welding and cutting operations to mitigate fire risks, and rapidly addressing any emergent hazards.

Daily functions include the installation, assembly, and upkeep of piping infrastructures; aiding welders; and preparing piping components with suitable tools and methods. The role demands the ability to interpret blueprints and specifications accurately, conduct inspections for quality assurance and leak detection, and collaborate closely with site supervisors and other trades to adhere to project deadlines. Adhering to safety guidelines, engaging in safety meetings, and maintaining a tidy and organized workplace are essential aspects of this role.

Qualifications and Expertise

• Proficiency in pipe handling and pipefitting for installing, assembling, and maintaining piping systems.
• Skills in welding, including TIG welding, to assist with hot work and pipe joining tasks.
• Knowledge of steam systems and associated piping to safely handle pressurized lines and industrial settings.
• Experience performing fire watch duties, understanding hot work safety procedures, and identifying hazards in construction or industrial environments.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, isometric sketches, and piping schematics.
• Strong understanding of workplace health and safety regulations, proper use of personal protective equipment, and site compliance.
• Physical capability to work outdoors and in industrial contexts, sometimes in confined or elevated spaces as required.
• Previous roles as a pipe fitter or fire watcher within construction, industrial, or oil and gas sectors are advantageous.
