About the Role

Christman Southeast Constructors is a well-established construction company operating across the southeastern United States, currently seeking experienced Finishers to join their team based in Knoxville, Tennessee. This role offers an opportunity to grow and advance a career in concrete construction on various projects.

Job Duties

• Prepare, smooth, and finish concrete surfaces such as floors, slabs, and elevated areas.
• Distribute concrete evenly to achieve specified depths and workable consistency.
• Shape and level freshly poured concrete at construction sites ensuring quality finishes.
• Use appropriate tools to carry out concrete finishing tasks effectively.
• Construct and organize concrete forms as required for projects.
• Handle loading, transporting, and unloading of tools, equipment, and supplies necessary for the job.
• Follow all safety regulations and company policies rigorously to maintain a safe working environment.
• Provide support for basic carpentry tasks related to concrete construction when needed.
• Maintain exceptional cleanliness and organization in immediate work areas and adhere to material handling procedures.

Work Schedule and Travel

This is a full-time position with possible extended hours and weekends occasionally required. Reliable transportation is essential. Employees must be willing and able to travel up to 60 miles daily depending on project locations relative to home base.

Qualifications and Skills

• At least two years of concrete construction experience is required.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Possession of OSHA 10-hour certification is favored.
• Strong understanding of safety regulations, tool, and equipment instructions.
• Ability to measure accurately and perform calculations pertinent to tasks.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Capability to successfully complete job site-required skill tests.
• Problem-solving skills to address and correct construction errors.
• Ability to organize tools and maintain tidy workspaces.
• Strong attention to time management and adherence to schedules and deadlines.
• Consistent, punctual attendance and reliability.
• Comfortable working at heights without fear.
• Must provide personal hand tools; power tools are supplied by the company.
