Overview
The Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Lead Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting financial planning, performance monitoring, management reporting, and business analytics. This position involves creating insightful financial analyses, executive-level reports, and analytical dashboards to underpin strategic decision-making within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in periodic forecasting and aid in formulating long-term financial plans and business cases.
- Deliver recommendations aimed at enhancing profitability, operational efficiency, and cash flow generation.
- Support corporate strategic initiatives through financial data analysis and scenario planning.
- Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual reviews of financial results including revenue, costs, profitability, and operational KPIs.
- Perform variance analysis against budget, forecasts, and previous periods.
- Assess capital expenditure needs and associated funding requirements.
- Monitor liquidity and working capital effectiveness.
- Highlight financial risks and opportunities, proposing improvement actions where necessary.
- Prepare detailed management commentaries interpreting business performance.
- Develop and deliver monthly management, Board, and executive-level reports and dashboards.
- Create financial presentations tailored for senior management and key stakeholders.
- Ensure the accuracy and punctuality of reporting on key financial and operational metrics.
- Design, develop, and maintain financial and operational dashboards using Power BI or similar tools, including automation of reporting and enhanced data visualization.
- Integrate both operational and financial data streams to generate actionable insights.
- Analyze metrics pertinent to port, terminal, logistics, shipping, maritime services, contract logistics, warehousing, and overall supply chain performance.
- Conduct profitability and cost assessments per customer, trade lane, terminal, or service offering.
- Collaborate with commercial and operational teams to provide data-driven insights supporting business decisions.
Qualifications
- Graduate or postgraduate degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Investment, Taxation, or Risk Management.
- Professional certifications such as CA, CFA, CRM, or MBA in Finance from accredited institutions.
- Membership in recognized professional bodies related to accounting, investment, risk, portfolio management, or taxation.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in FP&A roles, ideally in the logistics or supply chain sector.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Expertise in advanced Excel for financial analysis.
- Proficiency with Power BI or equivalent business intelligence/dashboarding software.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or other similar platforms).
- Strong analytical skills and ability to visualize data effectively.
- Good knowledge of financial statements and cash flow mechanisms.
- Background in ports and logistics operations is advantageous.
- Strong business partnering and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Keen attention to detail and maintaining accuracy under pressure.
- Ability to meet stringent deadlines efficiently.
