About the Role
The Financial Controller will be at the helm of the Finance & Accounts division, bearing comprehensive responsibility for financial reporting, accounting processes, statutory and tax compliance, internal controls, treasury management, and overall financial governance. This role ensures high integrity and precision in financial data, strengthens financial workflows and controls, promotes adherence to accounting standards and legal frameworks, and delivers insightful financial analysis to aid strategic business decisions. Reporting directly to the CFO, the Financial Controller collaborates closely with senior executives and various cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead full-spectrum Finance & Accounts operations including accounting activities, month-end and year-end closing procedures, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Prepare timely and precise financial statements aligned with Indian GAAP (IGAAP) and Ind AS standards.
- Manage financial closing cycles for months, quarters, and years within predetermined deadlines.
- Analyze general ledger accounts, balance sheet schedules, provisions, accruals, and crucial accounting entries to maintain accuracy.
- Coordinate statutory, internal, and external audits by planning, facilitating, documenting, and resolving audit comments promptly.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate accounting records alongside supporting schedules and reconciliations.
- Implement and oversee robust financial reporting controls to guarantee data accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, Income Tax, Companies Act, and various regulatory frameworks through timely filings and assessments.
- Handle tax filings, reconciliations, and related documentation while keeping abreast of evolving accounting and tax regulations and implementing necessary updates.
- Develop and revise finance policies and procedures to stay compliant with regulatory mandates.
- Engage with tax consultants, auditors, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders for compliance and advisory needs.
- Identify compliance risks proactively and formulate risk mitigation strategies.
- Assess contracts, agreements, and transactions to determine appropriate accounting standards treatment and offer expert guidance on complex matters under Ind AS and IGAAP.
- Formulate, introduce, and enhance accounting policies, standard operating procedures, internal controls, and governance frameworks.
- Detect control deficiencies and apply corrective or preventive actions effectively.
- Champion finance process improvements, automation, standardization, and operational efficiencies.
- Support internal control assessments and ensure enforcement of financial control frameworks.
- Supervise daily banking functions including cash management, payment operations, and bank reconciliations.
- Monitor liquidity, cash flows, working capital, and funding needs while managing banking relationships.
- Maintain controls over treasury activities such as receipts, payments, and investments and ensure precise accounting and reconciliation of these transactions.
- Assist management in liquidity planning and optimizing working capital.
- Collaborate with business, operations, legal, compliance, and risk teams on financial, commercial, and accounting concerns.
- Provide financial analyses and reporting to support strategic and operational choices.
- Translate complex financial data into actionable insights for senior leadership.
- Manage interactions with auditors, tax advisors, banks, and other external parties.
- Aid the CFO and senior leadership in financial governance, planning, and special business projects.
- Ensure seamless communication and alignment between Finance and other departments.
Qualifications & Experience
- Mandatory Chartered Accountant (CA) or Cost and Management Accountant (CMA) certification.
- Minimum 12 years of relevant post-qualification experience in Finance and Accounts functions.
- Comprehensive expertise in financial accounting, reporting, taxation, statutory compliance, audit coordination, internal control systems, and governance frameworks.
- Hands-on knowledge of Indian GAAP and Ind AS, including the preparation and review of financial statements.
- Demonstrated experience handling multiple audit types—statutory, internal, and external.
- Preferred background includes BFSI sector, multinational companies, or rapidly expanding businesses.
- Proficient in ERP/accounting software and MS Excel.
- Prior experience leading Finance & Accounts teams is advantageous.

Reporting Structure
The Financial Controller reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and is part of the senior management team within the Finance & Accounts function.
