Job description
Role Overview
The Financial Controller will drive the financial strategy of the hotel, managing key accounting tasks, financial reports, and tax data management. This role acts as the primary liaison with banks, auditors, and tax authorities to ensure financial compliance and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all Finance and Accounting functions across the hotel, maintaining robust financial control.
- Manage daily operations including revenue streams, accounts receivable and payable, general ledger oversight, cash flow management, and credit control.
- Ensure the precision of financial reporting, budgeting processes, forecasting, and continuous monitoring of hotel financial performance.
- Authorize and verify all revenues, expenses, discounts, and allowances, ensuring they align with company policies and local tax regulations.
- Collaborate with the management team, external auditors, banks, tax agencies, and regional or corporate finance units.
- Protect the hotel's assets by overseeing financial risks and maintaining strong internal control frameworks.
- Supervise and mentor the Finance team to optimize their effectiveness and professional development.
- Ensure all financial activities remain compliant with government regulations.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Academic Credentials: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree specializing in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent disciplines.
- Experience: Minimum of five years in a financial management role within a luxury 5-star hotel setting is preferred.
- Regulatory Acumen: Comprehensive knowledge of local corporate tax regulations, regional financial compliance statutes, and hospitality-specific accounting standards.
- Legal Work Status: Candidate must have valid and unrestricted authorization to work locally without needing sponsorship or relocation support.
- Skills and Leadership: Strong leadership capabilities combined with analytical thinking, problem-solving, and proficiency with financial software commonly used in the hospitality industry.
- Character Traits: Demonstrates high integrity, precision, and meticulous attention to detail.
