Job description
Overview
The Financial Controller serves as the strategic financial leader of the property, responsible for developing and executing finance-related strategies that align with both brand and property goals. This position ensures the effective delivery of financial products and services to meet the expectations of customers and staff while maximizing return on investment and supporting the brand's initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze financial and market data to forecast sales, expenses, and prepare annual budgets.
- Monitor actual sales against projections, investigating deviations and identifying opportunities to enhance profitability.
- Support the improvement of business performance through cost-benefit analysis and exploration of new revenue streams.
- Implement and maintain strong accounting controls and operational procedures to safeguard assets and optimize profitability.
- Lead and motivate finance and accounting teams by setting clear goals, delegating authority, and ensuring accountability.
- Deliver timely financial reports, ensuring accuracy in profit and loss documentation and compliance with audit requirements.
- Manage tax compliance and oversee internal and external audit processes.
- Ensure adherence to both Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Local Standard Operating Procedures (LSOPs).
- Engage key stakeholders including owners, executives, and guests, providing insightful financial guidance and supporting decision-making processes.
- Develop and implement team training and development programs to enhance skills and support operational success.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possess a four-year bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field with at least two years of relevant professional experience.
- Alternatively, candidates with a master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related disciplines are also eligible without prior work experience.
