About the Role

Perpetual Guardian is seeking a qualified Financial Adviser to join their Investment Advisory team based at the Auckland Head Office. The key responsibility is to deliver investment management and advisory services to a diverse client base including non-discretionary agency clients, co-trustees, and those with beneficial interests. This role is embedded in a collaborative setting that encourages the promotion of additional financial products and services while maintaining exemplary client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop relationships with new high-value clients and referral sources.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' financial situations, understand their needs, and formulate robust financial plans.
  • Offer guidance and support related to fiduciary services within the business.
  • Maintain and grow client relationships by creating mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Manage and report on risk and compliance activities diligently.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and perform market research to substantiate financial advice.
  • Ensure thorough knowledge and compliance with the Financial Advisers Act and related regulations.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is driven, meticulous, and has a genuine passion for financial services, particularly in providing superior investment support. Prior experience as a Financial Adviser or possession of a New Zealand Certificate in Financial Services (Level 5) is preferred. A strong grasp of the Financial Markets Conduct Act 2013 and a proactive mindset towards client relationship building and process refinement are essential.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years' experience in financial advisory services.
  • Certified Financial Adviser qualification is mandatory.
  • Proven success in delivering impactful financial advice.
  • In-depth understanding of industry regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Experience managing relationships with diverse stakeholders at various organizational levels.
  • Familiarity with investment platforms, wrap providers, and business systems such as Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Certification as a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) is desirable but not compulsory.
