This role is based in Christchurch with Shared Service teams across the country, and the key factor is the candidate's ability to effectively collaborate and contribute professional expertise within the finance team.

Role Overview

The Finance team is looking for a Financial Accountant to take ownership of critical accounting processes, uphold robust internal controls, and work collaboratively in a supportive setting that values professional growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing multiple entities including leading month-end and year-end reporting activities.
• Preparing journals, accruals, prepayments, and account reconciliations.
• Supporting compliance with statutory reporting and audits.
• Handling GST, FBT preparations and responding to IRD inquiries.
• Maintaining fixed asset registers and preparing detailed balance sheet reconciliations.
• Monitoring, analyzing, and reporting cashflow performance.
• Delivering accurate and timely financial reports to various stakeholders, including contributions to Board and Executive reporting.
• Managing and maintaining DFA reconciliations.

Candidate Requirements

• CA or CPA qualification is essential.
• Accounting, Finance, or related tertiary qualification.
• Minimum of three years post-qualification experience in financial reporting or chartered accounting roles.
• Strong understanding of New Zealand IFRS and statutory reporting standards.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a positive and collegial attitude.
• Meticulous attention to detail and a proactive, solution-oriented work ethic.
• Self-driven with an eagerness to take ownership and improve existing processes continuously.
