Financial Accountant

Role Overview

Join Riot Games in Dublin as a Financial Accountant supporting senior leadership across Europe. Your core responsibility will be overseeing reporting, compliance, and accounting operations throughout the EMEA region. You will play a key role in preparing statutory financial statements and assisting with annual audits while ensuring sound processes and adherence to financial and legal standards. Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, your integrity and judgment will foster accurate and reliable financial management.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle accounting tasks, including journal entry preparation, general ledger reconciliation, monthly report compilation, resolving queries from central accounting, and addressing discrepancies.
• Lead the year-end financial close by coordinating with external auditors, tax consultants, and signing off on local financial statements across multiple jurisdictions.
• Oversee compliance for various Riot subsidiary entities, collaborating closely with teams such as Talent, Legal, and Treasury.
• Investigate irregular transactions by liaising with relevant departments and finalizing accurate accounting treatments with the accounting team.
• Adhere strictly to a monthly reporting timeline and monitor account trends and fluctuations, working cross-functionally to understand underlying factors.
• Provide finance-related insights through data analysis and ad hoc reports, effectively communicating findings to stakeholders.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
• Professional accounting certification like ACA or an equivalent qualification.
• Proficiency in Excel and accounting software such as Oracle for reporting and analysis.
• Experience with Big 4 or mid-tier audit firms; experience in month-end reporting is advantageous.
• Preferred experience includes managing year-end processes with external auditors and tax advisors, and participation in local financial statement sign-offs.
• Payroll experience is a plus but not mandatory.
