Finance Manager

Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced and meticulous Finance Manager to oversee financial functions within our organization, particularly with a background in financial institutions or insurance. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this role involves managing complex accounting tasks, financial reporting, regulatory compliance including tax and Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and leading the finance team effectively. The position is based in Doha, Qatar and requires on-site work.

Key Duties

• Supervise daily financial operations ensuring adherence to IFRS and relevant accounting standards specific to the insurance industry.
• Manage complex accounting entries, reconciliations, and reporting aligned to financial and insurance sector needs.
• Prepare and scrutinize monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
• Lead month-end and year-end closing activities ensuring accuracy and on-time completion.
• Coach and develop a results-driven finance team promoting accountability and continuous growth.
• Ensure timely, accurate filing of taxes compliant with Qatar tax legislation and regulatory standards.
• Implement and enforce internal controls and risk management policies effectively.
• Oversee relationships with auditors, banks, regulatory bodies, and other key stakeholders.
• Provide strategic financial analysis and insights to support decision-making by the General Manager.
• Conduct budgeting, forecasting, and variance analyses to support business planning.
• Comply fully with AML regulations as per Qatar Central Bank directives, including policy enforcement, oversight, and reporting.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a closely related discipline; professional certification such as CPA is an advantage.
• At least five years of finance or accounting experience, with a minimum of three years in a managerial capacity in financial or insurance sectors.
• Comprehensive knowledge of tax laws and financial regulatory environments in Qatar.
• Strong technical expertise in IFRS and advanced financial reporting.
• Proven leadership skills managing finance operations and teams.
• Experience and proficiency with AML regulations specific to QCB compliance.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
• Competent in ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• High standards of integrity, responsibility, and meticulous attention to detail.
