Job description

About the Role

We are looking for a qualified Finance Manager to join a FMCG manufacturing company based in Dublin 12. This is a permanent position that offers a hybrid working arrangement. The role blends management accounting, financial reporting, and operational finance business partnering. You will be responsible for overseeing the monthly management reporting cycle to ensure accurate financial data is communicated to the board, sponsors, and lenders. Working collaboratively with manufacturing operations, procurement, and commercial finance teams, you will lead budgeting and planning activities, support covenant compliance, and manage a team of two financial accountants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the monthly management accounts and prepare the board reporting package, covering profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow, net debt, and KPI reports.
  • Produce comprehensive commentary and variance analysis relative to budget and prior year, coordinating with Commercial Finance on EBITDA bridges such as volume, price, mix, cost, and foreign exchange impacts.
  • Take an active role in month-end closing activities, including recording journal entries and completing monthly reconciliations.
  • Generate financial information required for sponsor inquiries, lender reports, and credit insurers, ensuring covenant compliance.
  • Lead the annual budgeting and strategic planning process, and monitor the progress of initiatives aimed at value creation according to the investment case.
  • Review the balance sheet reconciliations from the team, including trade spend, rebate accruals, and prepayments.
  • Oversee updates to standard costing and collaborate with manufacturing operations and procurement on cost and performance assessments.
  • Assess capital expenditure proposals and monitor actual spend against approved budgets.
  • Monitor working capital performance, analyze significant deviations, and provide practical recommendations.
  • Supervise and develop two financial accountants by reviewing their deliverables and setting clear priorities.
  • Assist with the annual insurance renewal process and contribute to various ad hoc financial analyses and projects.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Qualified accountant designation (CIMA, ACCA, or ACA).
  • Minimum of five years’ relevant finance experience, preferably in the FMCG industry.
  • Background in management accounting or financial planning & analysis within FMCG environments.
  • Strong financial reporting capabilities and excellent analytical acumen with careful attention to detail.
  • Experience working with integrated ERP systems; familiarity with IFS is advantageous.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Capacity to handle multiple deadlines efficiently and provide clear guidance to team members.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, especially in translating financial results to non-financial colleagues.
  • Sound judgment and practical decision-making approach.
