Finance Director

About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned and strategically oriented Finance Director to oversee financial planning, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, accounting governance, financial analysis, risk management, and driving business financial performance. This senior leadership role operates fully remotely within the United Arab Emirates and involves close collaboration with executive leadership and various departments across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Formulate and execute financial strategies that align with company goals
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and modeling efforts
• Manage accounting practices, financial reporting, treasury, cash management, and routine financial operations
• Compile and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Monitor financial metrics including revenue, expenses, profitability, cash flow, and working capital
• Develop financial forecasts, budgets, scenarios, and generate management reports
• Set and track financial KPIs and performance metrics
• Deliver financial insights and strategic recommendations to senior leadership
• Analyze operational performance, cost structures, pricing strategies, and profit margins
• Manage liquidity and optimize cash flow and working capital
• Identify financial risks and design mitigation measures
• Implement and maintain internal financial controls, policies, and procedures
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of all financial documentation
• Coordinate and supervise internal and external audits and liaise with financial consultants
• Ensure adherence to UAE accounting standards, tax laws including VAT and corporate tax, and regulatory compliance
• Manage relationships with banks, auditors, tax consultants, and other external financial stakeholders
• Support activities related to strategic investments, financing, expansion initiatives, and large financial projects
• Evaluate business cases, capital expenditures, and strategic plans
• Create detailed financial presentations, dashboards, and executive reports
• Oversee ERP systems, accounting software, financial reporting tools, and business intelligence platforms
• Enhance financial process efficiencies through automation and improved reporting
• Collaborate effectively across sales, operations, procurement, HR, legal, and other corporate functions
• Provide financial leadership and mentorship to finance and accounting teams
• Uphold company financial policies, ensure internal controls, and support organizational financial integrity
• Drive strategic growth initiatives throughout the UAE and the broader GCC region
• Prepare specialized financial analysis as requested by senior management
• Lead critical finance and business transformation projects as needed

Candidate Requirements

• 6 to 10+ years of advanced finance experience in roles such as Finance Director, Financial Controller, or Senior Finance Manager
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related disciplines
• Advanced degrees (MBA, Master’s) or professional certifications (ACCA, CPA, CMA, ACA, CIMA) are advantageous
• Strong expertise in financial management principles, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
• Well-versed in cash flow administration, working capital management, financial controls, and risk mitigation
• Skilled in financial analysis, financial modeling, and audit management
• Experienced in handling banking relationships, taxation, and engaging external financial advisors
• Familiarity with UAE VAT, corporate tax regulations, accounting standards, and compliance requirements
• Proficient with ERP, financial planning software, accounting systems, reporting, and BI tools
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial report preparation
• Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills
• Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, and presentation capabilities
• Ability to clearly explain complex financial concepts to non-finance professionals
• High commercial acumen and sound business judgment
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines
• Demonstrates high integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism
• Experience with UAE or GCC companies is highly preferred
• Deep knowledge of the UAE business environment
• Fluent in English; Arabic language skills are a plus
• Based in the United Arab Emirates with legal authorization to work
• Capable of working productively in a fully remote setting with reliable internet and adequate home office setup
