About the Company
Our client is a privately held New Zealand business with a national presence and over 50 years of operational history. The organization encompasses multiple divisions and operates with a streamlined head office, characterized by a practical and straightforward culture reminiscent of its family business origins.
Role Overview
The Finance Business Partner will serve as the principal finance contact for the operations team, providing structure and driving momentum in a complex business environment. Leading a small proficient team, this role reports directly to the General Manager of Finance. Emphasis is placed on proactive involvement and delivering results rather than solely reporting figures.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare management reporting for five profit and loss statements.
- Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models supporting the organization's capital expenditure programs.
- Update and manage performance scorecards consistently.
- Lead budgeting and periodic reforecasting processes.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders outside finance to influence commercial performance.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) qualification.
- Pragmatic and commercially focused mindset, comfortable operating within a private, owner-managed business rather than a large corporate atmosphere.
- Strong ability to communicate insights by interpreting financial data effectively.
- Familiarity with current Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a plus.
Benefits and Working Conditions
- Flexible working hours to support work-life balance.
- Access to on-site parking facilities.
- Opportunity to make a significant and immediate impact within an organization that grants considerable autonomy to its finance leadership.
