Finance Analyst

Overview

A thriving food manufacturing company located in Hastings seeks a motivated Finance Analyst to join their team. This role offers hands-on exposure to a wide range of financial tasks including reporting, budgeting, forecasting, GST compliance, and transactional finance. It is an excellent opportunity to enhance your finance career while working closely with the Accountant.

Key Responsibilities

• Compile and present detailed financial reports.
• Assist in preparing monthly management accounts including variance analysis and explanatory notes.
• Contribute to the budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Enhance and maintain reporting templates and schedules.
• Support GST preparation and meet tax compliance obligations.
• Aid in accounts payable and receivable operations.
• Handle supplier invoice processing, payment runs, and customer receipt management.
• Manage debtor accounts and respond to supplier inquiries.
• Assist with month-end closing procedures and reconciliations.

Candidate Profile

• Has completed tertiary studies in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline.
• Possesses 1 to 3 years of experience in finance or accounting support roles.
• Understands GST and basic tax compliance regulations.
• Familiar with accounts payable and/or accounts receivable processes.
• Has knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Demonstrates excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Is proactive and eager to learn new skills.
• Works effectively as part of a collaborative, hands-on team.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience using ERP or accounting software systems.
• Knowledge of MYOB ExoNet is a plus.
• Experience with Power BI or related reporting tools is advantageous.
