Finance Account Executive

Overview

Defendex Partners, located in Abu Dhabi, UAE, is seeking a Finance & Accounts Executive to join our expanding team. This position involves managing daily financial tasks and contributing to strengthening our financial infrastructure for future growth, securing banking facilities, funding, and preparing for investments.

This role goes beyond traditional accounting responsibilities, requiring a proactive and commercially aware individual paired with the ability to enhance financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle invoicing, accounts receivable and payable, expenses, and bank reconciliations.
• Ensure timely follow-up of customer payments and manage outstanding receivables.
• Maintain precise visibility over cash flows and payment scheduling.
• Monitor project expenses, revenues, profit margins, and overall profitability.
• Supervise financial records and accounting software.
• Assist with UAE VAT and Corporate Tax compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with external auditors, accountants, and tax professionals as needed.
• Prepare periodic management financial statements and cash flow forecasts.
• Support banking partnerships and prepare documentation for financial credit facilities.
• Investigate trade finance options including working capital, purchase order financing, and invoice financing.
• Contribute to preparing the company financially for potential investors and funding partners.
• Assist in building financial forecasts, models, and documentation for investors and banks.
• Enhance and automate finance procedures and internal controls.
• Coordinate closely with Procurement, Operations, and Logistics departments throughout project lifecycle from award to collection.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar disciplines.
• Hands-on experience in accounting or financial operations.
• Good knowledge of UAE VAT and Corporate Tax regulations.
• Proficiency with invoicing, collections, accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and cash flow management.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
• Familiarity with Zoho Books or equivalent ERP/accounting software is beneficial.
• Experience or understanding of banking credit facilities, trade finance, corporate finance, or funding is highly desirable.
• Strong organizational, follow-up, and analytical abilities.
• Capacity to work autonomously and take accountability.
• Based in the UAE or available to work full-time in Abu Dhabi.
