Role Overview

This is a full-time remote position for a Field Reporter tasked with locating, investigating, and reporting current news stories from various locations. Daily responsibilities include identifying significant events, performing interviews, validating information, and crafting clear, structured reports suitable for digital and multimedia platforms. The reporter will coordinate with editorial staff to devise coverage plans, respect deadlines, and adapt material for formats such as text, audio, and video. The role also involves staying alert to local and regional developments, establishing reliable contacts, and strictly following journalistic ethics and organizational protocols.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Demonstrated expertise in reporting, including researching, interviewing, and fact-checking.
• Effective communication skills for engaging with sources, team members, and a broad audience.
• Proficiency in writing clear, concise, and engaging news stories.
• Basic to intermediate skills in multimedia content creation, including photo and video capture and digital tool usage.
• Fluent spoken and written English; knowledge of additional regional languages is beneficial.
• Ability to work autonomously in a remote setting, manage time efficiently, and handle strict deadlines.
• Understanding of journalistic ethics, media law fundamentals, and responsible reporting practices.
• A bachelor's degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Media Studies, or a comparable field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Preferably prior experience working in field reporting, digital newsrooms, or media outlets.
