Role Overview
As a member of the field operations team, you will operate GeologicAI's rock scanning robots to deliver advanced geological insights for clients. Your duties will encompass preparing core samples for analysis, operating and maintaining scanning equipment, and processing scan data using proprietary software, either in lab environments or field locations. You will collaborate with client geologists to optimize data utility, ensuring the highest quality results.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare drill core samples for scanning procedures.
- Operate and maintain rock scanning robots and related equipment.
- Process and manage scan data through custom software platforms.
- Engage with client geologists to support data interpretation and application.
- Adhere to safety policies on active mine sites.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possess foundational understanding of geological principles.
- Demonstrate proficiency with technical equipment and software, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Experience navigating Windows operating systems, file structures, keyboard shortcuts, remote desktop access, and command line basics.
- Knowledge of Ethernet/network switches and hardware connectivity troubleshooting.
- Ability to safely lift and maneuver drill core boxes weighing up to 60 lbs frequently.
- Comfortable working and traveling independently, including overnight shifts and rotating two-week shift schedules.
- Strong client-facing communication skills with English fluency.
Preferred Attributes
- Basic coding experience in any programming language.
- Familiarity with geological drilling exploration programs.
- Experience with non-destructive testing or imaging technologies such as X-ray Fluorescence Spectroscopy, Hyperspectral Imaging, or Magnetic Susceptibility.
- Competency with multi-node processing and network storage systems.
- Basic mechanical aptitude including the use of hand and power tools.
- Experience in customer service or client interaction roles.
Additional Requirements
- Willingness to perform shift work including day and night shifts, overtime, and weekend availability.
- Commitment to client safety standards on operational mine sites.
- Physical capability for handling equipment consistently.
- Valid Saudi driving licence required.
Education
Applicants must hold at least a bachelor's degree in Earth Science, Geology, Geophysics, or Engineering.
