Field CTO

Position Overview

We are seeking a Field CTO to provide expert technical insight throughout the sales pursuit phase, validate design feasibility, and lead the entire solution design and quick PoC development before transitioning to delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead comprehensive AI presales activities and solution development.
• Engage actively in ongoing pursuits to confirm technical viability prior to finalizing project scope.
• Own full design of the PoC/PoV including architecture, data strategies, and integration plans, ensuring a focused scope to validate value hypotheses effectively.
• Independently or with a small team, rapidly develop and deploy PoC/PoV within the sales cycle timeframe.
• Evaluate technical architecture and compliance risks such as security, data residency, and integration complexities during pursuit stages.
• Coordinate with specialist roles (Solution Architect, Data Scientist, MLOps Engineer) when deeper technical validation is required.
• Manage a formal technical handover to delivery teams, including blueprint, risk logs, and detailed technical documentation.
• Act as the lead technical representative in client presentations and technical defense discussions.
• Communicate delivery feasibility and implementation strategies with client technical stakeholders during pursuits.
• Collaborate with the AI Deployment Strategist to maintain technically feasible scopes aligned with timeline and budget constraints.
• Mentor and guide junior technical personnel involved in ongoing pursuits.
• Adapt to managing multiple concurrent pursuits when resource demands increase.

Candidate Requirements

• 15 to 20 years of direct engineering and architecture experience with tangible production deployments, beyond just prototype projects.
• Proficiency across the entire stack from data, modeling, integration to agentic layers, capable of constructing solutions without dependence on specialists.
• Extensive knowledge of leading cloud AI and agentic platforms including Microsoft Azure AI Foundry, AWS Bedrock (with Strands Agents), Google Vertex AI, along with essential open-source frameworks such as LangChain and LangGraph.
• Strong understanding of enterprise-level compliance issues including security architecture, data residency policies, and integration risks.
• In-depth comprehension of delivery and implementation processes transitioning PoCs into large-scale production rollouts.
• Capability to defend architectural designs against challenges from client engineers and architects effectively.
• Comfort with customer-facing roles under the pressures of the sales cycle.
• Exceptional executive and technical presentation abilities, leading client-facing discussions and delivering technical demos personally.
• Experience in forward-deployed roles, startups, or embedded consulting environments is highly advantageous.
• Aptitude for coaching junior technical team members within active pursuits.
• Resilient work ethic to manage numerous high-pressure pursuits simultaneously without compromising on quality.
• Success measured by PoC/PoV cycle duration until client sign-off, technical win rates on pursued projects, and high-quality delivery handover as reported by delivery teams.
