Overview
Join a diverse and inclusive team as an F&B Chef De Partie at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. You will play a vital role in food preparation, cooking, and managing a kitchen section to meet high restaurant standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with Sous Chef and Head Chef in food preparation, cooking, and presentation
- Manage a specific kitchen section with support from Commis Chefs
- Ensure all food is prepared and cooked to the restaurant's exact standards
- Oversee and mentor Commis Chefs in your section
- Implement and monitor waste management controls
- Control and rotate stock items in your section appropriately
- Complete designated kitchen cleaning schedules thoroughly
- Comply with restaurant procedures such as docket handling, station operations, table numbering, and food labeling
- Possess detailed familiarity with the full menu offerings
- Work collaboratively with the team to maintain smooth operations
- Adhere to legal requirements under the Health & Safety Act 1974 and food hygiene standards
- Follow all company policies, standards, and training requirements consistently
- Report maintenance issues promptly to the relevant teams
- Maintain attention to restaurant and menu standards at all times
- Produce food of the highest quality meeting restaurant specifications
- Minimize food wastage and ensure correct usage and sequencing of stock items
- Demonstrate the ability to describe dishes in detail to colleagues and customers
- Ensure completion and accuracy of health and safety documentation such as cleaning schedules and temperature logs
- Provide full support to Sous and Head Chefs and team members
- Deliver timely completion of tasks ensuring the section runs smoothly and efficiently
- Offer consistent training, coaching, and support to Commis Chefs regularly
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma or degree in Culinary Arts, Pastry, or a related field preferred
- At least 5 years working experience in a fully equipped kitchen, including a minimum of 2 years in a similar role
- Certification in food hygiene and safety is required
