Faultperson

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Faultsperson who thrives in a dynamic work environment and is dedicated to restoring power reliably for our communities. This crucial role ensures our network remains safe, dependable, and operates optimally whether handling scheduled jobs, unplanned faults, or emergencies.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute authorised switching, testing, and earthing of network equipment during both planned operations and unforeseen incidents, maintaining network safety and reliability.
• Respond to power faults by diagnosing problems, mitigating hazards, and promptly restoring supply while providing emergency support such as electrical isolation at accident sites and hazard control.
• Ensure all activities meet or exceed operational standards, regulatory requirements, and customer satisfaction, while contributing actively to performance targets and service objectives.
• Utilise strong problem-solving abilities to evaluate complex situations under pressure and implement effective solutions.
• Provide leadership by supervising and assisting team members daily, managing workloads, delegating tasks based on competency, and supporting continuous team member development.
• Promote a positive and high-achieving team culture through open communication and leading by example in alignment with organisational values.

Requirements

• Possess a recognised electrical qualification from New Zealand or overseas.
• Hold a current and valid driver’s licence.
• Proven professional background as an Electrician, Cable Jointer, or Line Mechanic.
• Previous experience in standby and switching roles is highly valued.
• Strong commitment to safety demonstrated by an excellent safety track record and proactive, responsible work ethic.
• Dedicated to providing outstanding customer service.
