Role Overview

The Family Physician will provide wide-ranging primary healthcare to individuals and families of all ages. The role involves performing patient evaluations, diagnosing and managing both acute and chronic illnesses, overseeing preventive health care and wellness check-ups, and coordinating care alongside pharmacy personnel and other health providers. The physician will also handle urgent care cases, monitor medications, educate patients, and ensure precise and prompt clinical documentation meeting regulatory standards. This full-time position is based onsite in Vancouver, British Columbia, and requires active cooperation with the pharmacy team to deliver patient-focused integrated care.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated expertise in Family Medicine and Primary Care for continuous care across all age groups.
  • Comprehensive medical knowledge with an emphasis on evidence-based clinical decisions and management of chronic and acute health issues.
  • Experience managing urgent care situations to treat non-emergency yet time-sensitive medical conditions within a community practice.
  • Understanding of Community Health principles aimed at population health, preventive interventions, and health promotion activities.
  • Holder of a medical degree (MD or DO) with licensure or eligibility for licensure to practice Family Medicine in British Columbia.
  • Certified in Family Medicine or an equivalent qualification with current good standing from relevant professional and regulatory authorities.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaborative skills with a dedication to culturally sensitive and inclusive healthcare delivery.
  • Ability to commit to full-time onsite clinical responsibilities in Vancouver, BC.
  • Experience working with pharmacists and allied health teams is advantageous.
