About the College
The College of Computing and Mathematics at King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM) is a prestigious institution renowned regionally and globally for its excellence in education and research since its establishment in 1986. Position Overview
The faculty position at CCM-KFUPM is a full-time, on-site role based in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. Key responsibilities include delivering undergraduate and graduate instruction, designing and continuously improving course content, supervising student research projects and theses, and providing academic mentoring. Faculty members will engage in original research, publish in recognized journals and conferences, pursue external funding opportunities, and collaborate on interdisciplinary projects. Additional duties include participation in departmental and college committees, curriculum enhancement, university and community service, and fostering an inclusive educational environment. Engagement with industry through joint research and experiential learning initiatives is encouraged.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Possession of advanced academic credentials, typically a PhD, in Computer Engineering, Information and Computer Science, Industrial & Systems Engineering, Mathematics, or a closely related discipline.
- Proven experience in university-level teaching, including course design, lecture delivery, and evaluation of student performance.
- A demonstrated or emerging portfolio of research with publications in peer-reviewed venues and capability to acquire research funding and engage in interdisciplinary collaborations.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills suitable for working in multicultural and diverse academic environments.
- A commitment to guiding students through mentorship, academic advising, and support for experiential learning opportunities such as internships and cooperative education programs.
- Experience or interest in collaborating with industry partners, applied research, and projects addressing both regional and global technological or societal challenges.
- Willingness to contribute to departmental and collegiate service including committee participation, curriculum development, and continuous academic program improvement.
- Proficiency in English for instructional and research activities; additional language skills considered beneficial.
