Role Summary

As a Facilities Technician reporting to the Facilities Supervisor at Long Beach, you will maintain and support the facility infrastructure essential for designing and building human-rated space stations. This full-time, non-exempt role involves hands-on facility maintenance and management in a dynamic aerospace environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and perform routine maintenance on building systems, including non-technical troubleshooting and repairs involving plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry.
• Carry out various repair tasks such as painting, wall patching, ceiling tile replacement, furniture assembly, and upkeep of office and kitchen equipment, as well as flooring repairs.
• Manage daily activities and oversight of external contractors performing work on facilities.
• Conduct job site walk-throughs alongside vendors, engineers, supervisors, and management representatives.
• Assist janitorial and hospitality teams by moving furniture, equipment racks, managing waste disposal using forklifts, and supporting special event setups and break-downs.
• Operate industrial equipment including forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent certification.
• At least 2 years of experience in facilities maintenance or related fields.

Preferred Experience and Skills

• Previous work experience within aerospace industry facilities.
• Background in construction, project management, equipment maintenance, and tenant improvements.
• Fundamental understanding of electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC/R, concrete work, framing, and industrial gas trades.
• Knowledge of basic engineering and construction concepts and practices.
• Familiarity with industrial air fittings and routine maintenance.
• Ability to interpret instructions and blueprints.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced setting and ability to self-motivate while collaborating effectively with team members.
• Proficient in managing a basic toolset provided by the employer.
• Safety certifications and training in operating forklifts, scissor lifts, cranes, hoists, and fall protection equipment.

Additional Job Requirements

• Availability to work overtime or weekends to support critical project milestones.
• Physical capability to lift weights up to 50 pounds unassisted.
• Ability to stand for extended durations and perform physical activities such as climbing ladders, bending, grasping, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching as required for job duties.
• Possession of a valid California driver’s license.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a salary range of approximately $27.60 to $50.30 per hour, adjusted based on experience and qualifications.
