About the Role
The Facilities Maintenance Technician will report directly to the Regional Manager Facilities and is responsible for the upkeep of equipment and systems at the Hertz Airport car rental site. This role involves managing and maintaining building infrastructure, ensuring smooth operation, and troubleshooting to reduce downtime across multiple car rental locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Promptly respond to emergency maintenance scenarios, coordinating additional assistance including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Execute preventive maintenance procedures to reduce disruptions and ensure longevity and proper function of facilities, systems, and equipment.
- Undertake minor construction projects as assigned by supervisory staff.
- Maintain detailed records using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to track maintenance activities, labor hours, and plan future maintenance.
- Oversee service providers, ensuring quality, compliance, and cost-effectiveness of contracted maintenance work.
- Guarantee that all maintenance aligns with established facility standards and supports business units' operational requirements.
- Assist with asset condition assessments for capital planning and risk reduction efforts.
- Consistently report facilities-related issues and progress updates to Facilities Management.
Candidate Profile
- Preferably holds a high school diploma or equivalent credential.
- Possesses at least four years of relevant experience in maintenance roles with supervisory interaction with service providers.
- Skilled in general building and grounds maintenance.
- Familiar with systems including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, car wash equipment, vacuum systems, and fuel stations.
- Experienced in construction, repair, and maintenance activities.
- Proficient with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems and basic computing tools like email, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
- Knowledgeable about environmental safety and regulatory considerations.
- Capable of clear and effective communication with diverse stakeholders.
Work Environment
The role requires working in potentially hazardous conditions, including heights up to 60 feet. It demands physical activities such as walking, standing, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. The technician must be comfortable with outdoor weather variations—wet, humid, cold, or hot—and exposure to high noise, dust, and potentially hazardous materials.
Compensation
The starting wage for this position is $26 per hour, adjustable based on experience.
