About Trinity College

Role Overview
We are seeking a full-time, motivated, and enthusiastic individual to join our busy Facilities team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the extensive grounds across the College, including playing fields, gardens, and surrounding areas. This position supports our teaching, learning, and co-curricular activities by ensuring all external environments are well-presented and operational.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a high-quality standard of garden and grounds upkeep according to priority schedules and deadline requirements.
- Prepare and maintain sports fields and their surrounds to meet the College’s exacting standards.
- Assist with landscape and turf renewal initiatives from initial planning through to execution, including managing relevant consumables and supplies.
- Conduct safety audits and inspection checks to support regular maintenance programs.
- Collaborate proactively with the Facilities team to deliver customer-focused results in line with the College’s Customer Service Charter, ensuring minimal disruption and a safe environment for students and staff.
Candidate Requirements
- Certificate III in Turf Management, Horticulture, or an equivalent qualification, alongside a genuine passion and deep knowledge of turf and grounds care.
- Experience maintaining cricket wickets is desirable.
- Previous experience in a similar role working within a continuous service delivery model.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including outside standard hours and holidays, to accommodate key events.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team in often fast-paced conditions, maintaining a consistently positive and professional attitude.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage professionally with colleagues and stakeholders, embodying Trinity College’s values.
- Commitment to rigorous safe work practices appropriate to a school environment, including understanding child-care safety protocols.
- Sound understanding of irrigation systems.
- Current and relevant industry certifications and licenses, including chainsaw operation and ChemCert accreditation.
- Competency in managing emails, spreadsheets, and tracking maintenance jobs accurately.
- Openness to further training and professional development as needed.
- Compliance with the College’s Child Safe Policy and Child Safety Code of Conduct is mandatory.
- Must hold a current unrestricted South Australian Driver’s License.
Terms and Conditions
- Salary: $84,497 per annum, aligned with the Trinity College Enterprise Agreement.
- Employment is full time and based onsite at Evanston South, South Australia.
- Prior to commencing employment, candidates must fulfill mandatory requirements including a Department of Human Services Working with Children Check, acceptance of Child Safe Policies, and completion of required safety training related to responding to risk, harm, abuse, and neglect in education and care contexts.
