Role Overview

Join PCI Pharma Services as a Facilities Engineer in Stamullen, County Meath, contributing to global biopharma efforts that deliver life-changing therapies. This permanent, on-site role operates Monday through Friday and focuses on managing and maintaining facilities to pharmaceutical standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Engineering team to address maintenance needs and execute preventive maintenance, troubleshoot facility-related issues.
• Oversee and maintain all aspects of facilities, including utilities, equipment, and landscaping.
• Evaluate and develop upgrade or modification plans for plant facilities.
• Manage and contribute to maintenance systems within the Facilities Engineering Group.
• Ensure building repairs and upgrades align with stringent pharmaceutical standards.
• Maintain comprehensive facilities documentation compliant with GMP guidelines.
• Manage contracts related to utilities, security, cleaning, pest control, fire protection, access systems, and waste management.
• Supervise engineering contractors through pre-qualification, site induction, permit processes, inspections, and safe exit protocols.
• Implement energy-saving measures and recycle initiatives to optimize costs and sustainability.
• Update SOPs, technical documentation, and regulatory papers to maintain compliance.
• Drive continuous improvement projects incorporating methodologies such as TPM, Lean, Six Sigma, and Shingo.
• Lead or support technical enhancements as part of ongoing departmental improvement programs.
• Plan and execute small to medium capital projects successfully.
• Coordinate with Health & Safety departments to meet environmental and safety regulations.
• Conduct validations on various facility systems as needed.
• Manage maintenance and facilities budgeting effectively.
• Address audit findings by coordinating remedial actions.
• Collaborate closely with PCI Engineering teams and site stakeholders for 24/7 operational effectiveness and capacity improvements.
• Support new product introductions and transfers with technical expertise.
• Resolve documentation issues related to engineering operations.
• Liaise with equipment vendors to troubleshoot and resolve performance problems.
• Define, oversee, and document engineering procedures and practices.
• Lead risk and gap assessments for new or modified equipment and processes.
• Chair daily handover meetings to monitor ongoing issues, delegating as necessary.
• Organize and supervise external contractors including calibration, services, and cleaning.
• Maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and GMP compliance through leadership and management.
• Undertake additional duties as assigned by senior management.
• Establish clear objectives, communicate progress, and ensure timely achievement of goals.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

• Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is mandatory.
• Two to five years' experience in a similar role within GMP-regulated manufacturing; audit experience is advantageous.
• Familiarity with facilities equipment maintenance best practices, including CMMS and Reliability Centered Maintenance.
• Experience with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma.
• Strong communication and documentation skills, with an ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Numeracy skills including budgeting and financial management capabilities.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office; AutoCAD skills are a plus.
