The company fosters an inclusive environment that supports skill development, curiosity, and empowerment, providing career growth opportunities.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Facilities Coordinator to join our Dundalk site, reporting directly to the Facilities Manager. This role offers a chance to advance your career in a dynamic manufacturing environment producing switchgear and related equipment for critical and commercial buildings.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage daily facilities operations covering all business areas.
  • Oversee the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS): assign and close work orders, monitor preventive maintenance adherence, and keep asset registers updated.
  • Schedule and coordinate predictive and preventive maintenance for systems including HVAC, compressed air, local exhaust ventilation, water, fabrication tools, lifting devices, and building infrastructure.
  • Address reactive maintenance promptly to ensure minimal manufacturing downtime.
  • Perform hands-on maintenance tasks for equipment and premises.
  • Supervise janitorial staff to guarantee excellent housekeeping and hygiene standards.
  • Coordinate statutory and safety inspections such as life safety systems testing, thermal imaging, and lift checks.
  • Manage security systems including access control and keyholding responsibilities.
  • Administer contractor activities: oversee inductions, permits, safety documentation (RAMS), and supervise site visits as needed.
  • Ensure all contractors adhere to site safety protocols and comply with Irish health and safety legislation.
  • Verify service reports and confirm invoices align with agreed scopes and outputs.
  • Maintain compliance with ISO standards and Irish regulatory requirements.
  • Record and manage statutory inspections and related documents.
  • Support internal and external facility audits, ensuring accurate records and addressing corrective actions.
  • Oversee waste management, pest control, environmental policies, and chemical safety data sheets.
  • Support permit-to-work procedures such as Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), hot works, and controlled area access.
  • Assist with workspace and production layout adjustments, equipment relocations, factory acceptance testing areas, and minor capital projects.
  • Help with project tendering, scheduling, commissioning, and handover.
  • Identify and promote continuous improvement initiatives including energy efficiency and lean methodologies like 5S.
  • Act as the primary contact for facilities support requests and communicate necessary operational downtime and safety information.
  • Prepare reports and dashboards on KPIs, maintenance compliance, and expenditures.
  • Monitor Building Management System (BMS) portals, report discrepancies, and evaluate the preventive maintenance program for enhancement opportunities.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven experience in facilities, maintenance, or operational roles within manufacturing, industrial settings, or critical power environments.
  • Strong understanding of building services such as HVAC, compressed air, local exhaust ventilation, and fire protection systems.
  • Familiarity with Irish statutory compliance standards including fire safety and fixed electrical testing.
  • Experience managing CMMS platforms and ability to read basic technical drawings.
  • Successful track record coordinating vendors and contractors.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications (Excel, SharePoint, Teams, Outlook); knowledge of ERP systems and AutoCAD is advantageous.

Preferred Certifications and Skills

  • Technical qualifications in mechanical, electrical, or building services disciplines at Level 6 or 7 are preferred.
  • Certifications such as First Aid, Fire Warden, Working at Height, Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP), and Forklift operation are beneficial.
  • Experience or training in mechanical or electrical trades is an asset.

Benefits and Employee Support

  • A supportive work environment where contributions are acknowledged and career achievements celebrated.
  • Opportunities for skill development in a fast-paced industry.
  • Competitive remuneration with a merit-based annual salary review.
  • Enhanced leave entitlements beyond statutory requirements.
  • Referral bonuses and sick pay schemes.
  • Cycle to Work program and extended maternity, paternity, and parental leave.
  • Flexible and hybrid working arrangements depending on role needs.
  • Potential for travel based on job responsibilities.
  • Access to wellbeing resources including an Employee Assistance Program with free counseling and expert advice.
  • Availability of onsite trained Mental Health First Aiders.
  • Various discounts on food, activities, gym memberships, and more.
