Job Summary

The role of Fabricator involves actively supporting multiple shop departments such as gasket, hose, mechanical seal, cylinder repair, and conveyor belting. The position requires the use of various tools to measure, cut, manipulate, and fabricate gaskets, hoses, and related products.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining inventory accuracy through cycle counts and organizing stock by tagging, stacking, and sorting.
• Maintain cleanliness and order of equipment and shop areas.
• Engage in lean manufacturing initiatives and comply with safety protocols.
• Propose and collaborate on continuous improvements in lean processes, quality, and safety.
• Operate equipment such as soft gasket presses, circle cutter, allpax cutter, and shears; perform gasket painting and punch pressing.
• Support the hose department with tasks like banding, crimping, rolling, cutting, testing, and hydro hydraulic hose duties.
• Participate in mechanical seal tasks: disassembly, cleaning, bead blasting, receiving, packing, and shipping components.
• Help the shipping department with packing, shipping, receiving, and crate construction.
• Operate a forklift contingent on certification.
• Regularly utilize tape measures and perform measurements.
• Perform additional job duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Preferably at least one year of experience in an industrial shop environment.
• Basic computer skills are an advantage.
• Competency in using tape measures and performing fundamental arithmetic operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
