Job description
Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Fabrication Fitter to support Prosthetic & Orthotic (P&O) clinicians in delivering quality patient care through precise fabrication and device modification. The role involves hands-on work with materials and components, ensuring high standards of functionality and comfort for prosthetic and orthotic devices.
Primary Responsibilities
- Support clinicians during patient assessments, measurements, casting, and fittings.
- Fabricate, alter, and customize prosthetic sockets, orthoses, ankle-foot orthoses (AFOs), knee-ankle-foot orthoses (KAFOs), and various other devices used in prosthetics and orthotics.
- Conduct alignment procedures, trial fittings, and perform essential adjustments for optimal device performance.
- Work adeptly with thermoplastics, laminates, carbon fiber, and other specialized P&O materials.
- Handle and assemble prosthetic components such as liners, knee joints, and feet, as well as orthotic parts.
- Perform repairs, upkeep, and modifications of prosthetic and orthotic equipment.
- Ensure the finishing quality aligns with required standards and patient comfort is prioritized.
- Maintain workshop tools and manage inventory of equipment and materials diligently.
- Liaise with clinicians and patient care personnel to ensure devices are delivered on schedule.
- Adhere strictly to workplace safety, hygiene protocols, and quality control measures.
