About Nexus Sacco Society Ltd.

Nexus Sacco Society Ltd. is a regulated Deposit-Taking SACCO focused on delivering transparent, dependable, and innovative financial solutions to its members. To maintain financial integrity and comply with regulatory standards, the SACCO is inviting qualified independent external auditors or audit firms to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct independent external audits of the SACCO's annual financial statements following International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and legal obligations.
  • Provide an impartial professional opinion regarding the financial status and operational outcomes of the SACCO.
  • Ensure adherence to the Sacco Societies Act (Cap 490B) and the SASRA Deposit-Taking Regulations.
  • Compile and deliver comprehensive audit management letters and audit findings to the Board of Directors, Audit Committee, and at the Annual General Meeting (AGM).
  • Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal control mechanisms and risk management systems.

Minimum Qualifications and Statutory Requirements

  • Must be a registered practicing member or firm in good standing with the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK), holding a valid Practicing License.
  • Required to be on the current SASRA-approved external auditors list.
  • At least five years of verifiable experience auditing financial institutions, especially Deposit-Taking SACCOs or commercial banks within Kenya.
  • Comply with all statutory independence provisions outlined in Section 45 of the Sacco Societies Act; auditors cannot be officers, employees, or associates of the SACCO.
  • Proven technical expertise, professional integrity, and ability to deliver full audit reports within mandated regulatory timelines.

Interested and qualified audit firms or lead auditors should send their technical and financial proposals, including:

  • Firm profile and CVs of the key audit team members or partners.
  • Evidence of current ICPAK Practicing License.
  • Documentation confirming approval or registration as a SASRA external auditor.
  • Reference letters or recommendations from at least three Deposit-Taking SACCO clients.
