Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain software within a varied product ecosystem, including publishing, e-commerce, content management, and communication tools.
• Create dependable and scalable solutions by weighing performance, maintainability, abstraction overheads, and user needs.
• Engage throughout the engineering lifecycle—from problem analysis and solution design to implementation, testing, deployment, and continuous refinement.
• Systematically diagnose and fix complex technical problems with a deep understanding of technological layers.
• Collaborate with globally dispersed engineering teams via written communication, code reviews, technical discussions, and shared practices.
• Contribute to open-source projects and follow engineering methodologies that encourage transparency, reuse, and community engagement.
• Utilize AI-enhanced development tools and workflows to boost productivity and support product creation.
• Pursue ongoing learning, experimentation, and adaptation across programming languages, frameworks, architectures, and technical paradigms.

Qualification Requirements

• Demonstrable professional experience as a software engineer with a history of delivering production-ready software.
• Experience working with various programming languages and paradigms; knowledge of PHP and JavaScript is valuable, along with the enthusiasm to learn new technologies.
• Experience handling large-scale systems, including backend infrastructures, performance engineering, distributed systems, or products with widespread and diverse users.
• Comprehensive understanding of software architecture, abstraction, system behavior, and balancing technical complexity against business or user impact.
• Strong debugging and analytical skills, with a motivation to explore root causes rather than only symptoms.
• Commitment to high standards in code quality, maintainability, reliability, and meticulous attention to detail.
• Effectiveness working in fully distributed environments, collaborating asynchronously across time zones and communication platforms.
• Comfortable with peer code review, continuous integration, rapid deployment cycles, and iterative development.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to clarify technical decisions and collaborate positively.
• Willingness to travel around 3–4 weeks annually for in-person team gatherings.
• A formal degree is not strictly required; demonstrated engineering competence and skills take precedence.
