About the Role
We are seeking experienced Kitchen Hands to provide flexible support across various hospitality settings in Christchurch. This opportunity offers casual shifts with diverse employers including healthcare and hospitality venues throughout the week, especially during mornings and evenings.

This allows gaining experience in multiple commercial kitchens with varied environments.
Primary Tasks
- Operating commercial dishwashers and hand washing kitchenware
- Cleaning kitchen spaces and maintaining hygiene standards
- Assisting with food preparation tasks such as peeling, chopping, and portioning
- Supporting chefs with basic prep work
- Managing deliveries, stock rotation, and storing supplies appropriately
- Handling waste and recycling
- Keeping workstations clean, organized, and compliant with food safety regulations
- Providing general assistance to kitchen staff as needed
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience as a Kitchen Hand in commercial kitchen settings
- Positive attitude and motivated work ethic
- Ability to function efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to hygiene and food safety standards
- Dependability and punctuality
- Availability for casual shifts including mornings, evenings, and weekends
- Own reliable transport and valid driver's licence to travel between sites
- Experience working in hospitals, rest homes, hotels, cafés, or busy restaurants is preferred
