Role Overview
As the Expand Sales Director for EMEA & APAC, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth within the existing customer portfolio. You will lead and mentor a team of Account Managers focused on post-sale client management, including retention, growth, and maximizing long-term value. Your role will involve cultivating strong client relationships and identifying expansion opportunities that align with customer objectives. Reporting to the VP of Global Expansion, you will be instrumental in shaping regional growth and customer retention strategies.
This position is fully remote and targets key European markets, requiring you to be locally embedded but operate with a global approach, leveraging regional insights and cross-cultural understanding.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the EMEA Account Management team, driving performance in retention and growth metrics.
- Provide coaching and development for Account Managers through regular one-on-one meetings, account evaluations, and sales support.
- Manage renewal processes, account expansion, and overall revenue from existing customers.
- Implement structured account planning to deepen client relationships and unlock new revenue streams.
- Build and maintain senior-level stakeholder relationships across essential accounts.
- Foster a culture focused on high performance, accountability, and commercial success.
- Leverage data analytics to detect churn risks, identify expansion opportunities, and analyze customer trends.
- Enhance the conversion rate from sold opportunities to invoicing and minimize obstacles after closing deals.
- Ensure disciplined usage of CRM systems and establish clear account ownership among team members.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Partnerships, and Operations teams to support customer growth initiatives.
- Contribute insights to go-to-market strategies related to retention, pricing, and expansion tactics.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and continuous development of Account Managers.
- Explore automation and AI tools to increase operational efficiency and improve customer insights.
Qualifications and Experience
- Demonstrable track record managing post-sale revenue streams, including renewals and account development.
- Minimum of 4 years leading and scaling Account Management or post-sale teams.
- Strong commercial acumen with a dual focus on client retention and growth.
- Preferred experience in Employer of Record (EOR), global payroll, HR technology, or SaaS sectors.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills both within the organization and with customers.
- Data-driven mindset capable of early identification of risks and opportunities.
- Passionate about cultivating high-performing teams.
- Able to thrive in a dynamic and fast-changing environment.
- Residency in a major European city with legal authorization to work there is required.
- Fluent professional English proficiency mandatory.
- Bonus: Proficiency in the primary language of your hub city (Dutch, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Finnish, Norwegian, Swedish, or Danish) at a professional level, both written and spoken, especially important for engaging enterprise clients.
Additional Information
The role may involve travel commitments up to 25% of the time for customer engagements, team gatherings, and corporate events.
