Position Overview

The Video Editor will create captivating video content for social media, marketing, user-generated material, and extended formats. Collaborating closely with creative and content teams, the role involves transforming raw footage and ideas into engaging visual narratives consistent with the brand identity. The ideal candidate is well-versed in editing, color grading, pacing, visual storytelling, and social media-first content formats. Handling both fast-turnaround short videos and longer content such as podcasts is essential. A creative, curious, trend-conscious mindset and eagerness to experiment with novel editing styles are highly valued.

Primary Responsibilities

• Produce high-quality short videos including Reels, UGC, social advertisements, and campaign visuals rapidly.
• Edit longer-form videos, such as podcasts and interviews.
• Implement comprehensive color correction and grading to ensure visual polish and consistency.
• Create elementary motion graphics, animations, transitions, and typography utilizing After Effects.
• Develop compelling edits emphasizing pacing, cuts, musical synchronization, and storytelling.
• Stay current with social media trends, editing methodologies, and varied content formats.
• Innovate with new editing techniques to boost audience engagement and content impact.
• Collaborate with designers, marketers, content creators, and other creatives to fulfill video requirements.
• Maintain brand consistency across all video materials, aligning with Alike's visual style and tone.
• Handle multiple projects efficiently, delivering high-quality work within tight deadlines.
• Organize and manage all project files, footage, assets, and finished products effectively.

Candidate Requirements

• 2 to 3 years of professional video editing experience, ideally within social media, advertising, or digital media sectors.
• Proficient hands-on skills with Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects; familiarity with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and DaVinci Resolve is advantageous.
• Strong expertise in color correction and grading techniques.
• Experience editing rapid social media content including Reels, UGC, and digital ads.
• Capability to edit long-form videos and podcasts.
• Basic knowledge of motion graphics and animations.
• Solid grasp of graphic design principles, typography, composition, and visual hierarchy.
• Excellent sense of timing, pacing, sound design, transitions, and visual storytelling.
• Awareness of contemporary social media trends and popular editing styles and formats.
• Creative and experimental approach with openness to exploring novel editing styles.
• Meticulous attention to detail with dedication to high-quality output under tight schedules.
• Adaptability to fast-paced, evolving workflows and eagerness to continuously learn.
• Submission of a strong editing portfolio or showreel demonstrating proficiency with both short- and long-form content is mandatory.
