Executive Manager, Structured Credit Investments

Role Overview

We are seeking an Executive Manager to lead Structured Credit Investments within the Treasury and Investments Group based in Abu Dhabi. This senior position oversees executing and managing lifecycle activities for structured credit products such as Asset-Backed Securities (ABS), Mortgage-Backed Securities (MBS), and Collateralised Loan Obligations (CLOs). The function supports institutional funding, investments, and centralized risk management.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement structured credit mandates approved by leadership in alignment with desk strategies, collaborating with Management, Risk, and Finance teams.
• Track macroeconomic trends, regulatory updates, and market dynamics affecting structured credit sectors.
• Develop action plans translating strategy into operational objectives for short, medium, and long terms, monitoring performance and adjusting as needed.
• Source, screen, and analyze structured credit opportunities, emphasizing CLOs, ensuring harmony with risk appetite and compliance standards.
• Assess transaction configurations including collateral quality, cash flow structures, and the financial health of counterparties for internal approvals.
• Support portfolio construction initiatives and create tools to oversee credit risks, concentration levels, and market developments.
• Produce comprehensive portfolio analyses and presentations for senior management and committees recommending portfolio rebalancing and optimization strategies.
• Ensure full regulatory compliance, particularly with UAE Central Bank directives, for all investments and transaction structures.
• Coordinate with Risk, Compliance, and Legal to manage documentation, internal controls, and audit preparedness; assist with regulatory audits and governance.
• Drive governance structures, control measures, and performance metrics across structured credit activities.
• Engage external stakeholders including arrangers, asset managers, and rating agencies for sourcing, review, and negotiation of investments.
• Identify innovative product structures, asset categories, and investment techniques promoting diversification and strategic alignment.
• Oversee team goals, performance evaluation, and professional development through formal and informal feedback.
• Contribute to budget formulation and track financial outcomes against targets.
• Suggest enhancements to departmental policies, processes, and procedures to improve effectiveness.

Qualifications and Experience

• At least 8 years of experience in structured credit markets either from an arranger or investor perspective.
• Extensive involvement with ABS, MBS, and bespoke securitisation transactions.
• Degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a closely related field.
• Preferred certifications include CFA, FRM, or equivalent qualifications.
• Proficiency in advanced financial modelling and detailed cash flow analysis.
• Strong background in portfolio risk management and monitoring techniques.
• Comprehensive understanding of relevant regulatory and capital frameworks for structured credit.
• Capability to generate insightful investment ideas and effectively communicate with senior stakeholders.
• Exemplary risk management ethos and high professional integrity.
