The Executive Director of Software Engineering is a seasoned technology leader responsible for shaping the strategic vision and operational model of SGX’s enterprise software engineering. This role encompasses engineering leadership, architectural guidance, platform resilience, governance, and capability building to ensure SGX's technology infrastructure remains secure, scalable, and future-proof.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and drive the enterprise engineering vision and lead transformation of software delivery across SGX Technology.
• Develop and guide enterprise-wide software architecture strategy and technological evolution.
• Set technology-wide application security and engineering risk frameworks.
• Lead organization-level quality assurance and delivery excellence initiatives.
• Define and implement integration and interoperability strategies across the tech organization.
• Drive operational resilience and service reliability directions within the software development lifecycle.
• Shape strategies for organizational service ownership, observability, and operational excellence.
• Champion productivity enhancement via automation and AI-driven initiatives.
• Cultivate engineering culture, workforce strategy, and long-term capability development.
• Innovate software delivery models around AI-native operations and ecosystem capabilities.
• Serve as a trusted senior technology partner, influencing strategic decisions to position engineering as a competitive differentiator.

Candidate Profile

• Extensive senior leadership experience in software or platform engineering, managing multiple teams or enterprise platforms in complex, high-availability environments.
• Proven success in setting enterprise engineering direction and building scalable operating and governance models.
• Expertise in modern distributed systems, including microservices, service mesh, and observability platforms; strong proficiency in cloud environments such as AWS EKS, Azure AKS, and GCP GKE.
• Advanced knowledge of Site Reliability Engineering practices like incident management, chaos engineering, and capacity planning.
• Proven record of enhancing operational resilience and service maturity in mission-critical, regulated platforms.
• Strong leadership and communication skills with experience mentoring engineering leaders, implementing upskilling and performance frameworks, and influencing technology decisions at executive levels.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, ICT, or related fields; postgraduate qualifications are advantageous.
• Experience or knowledge of financial market infrastructure, including securities and derivatives trading, clearing, settlement, market operations, or exchange systems is preferred.
