Examiner - GCSE German (2024 Specification)

Role Overview

The role involves marking GCSE German candidates' exam responses according to a set marking scheme, closely following examination procedures and recognition conditions. While most marking is conducted remotely using the ePEN digital system, a small number of scripts may require traditional paper-based marking.

Key Responsibilities

• Mark exam scripts accurately and consistently to uphold overall standards.
• Submit marking samples to your Team Leader punctually as instructed.
• Comply with all marking deadlines and milestones.
• Complete all required administrative tasks associated with the role.

Qualifications and Experience

• At least one academic year's teaching experience within the past eight years, in the relevant subject, and following teacher qualification.
• Possession of a degree or its equivalent.
• Qualified teaching certification.

Required Competencies

• Strong ability to work effectively under pressure.
• Capability to meet strict deadlines reliably.
• Comprehensive subject knowledge to accurately interpret and apply the marking criteria.

Additional Details

• The marking period is scheduled from May through July.
• Training sessions for examiners occur between May and June.
