Job description

The Opportunity

Auckland Stadiums is seeking an experienced Event Coordinator to join their busy team, reporting directly to the Event Manager. The role involves supporting a variety of events, including high-profile sports matches (e.g., New Zealand Warriors, Auckland FC) and concerts, contributing from event and venue planning through to administration.

You will collaborate closely with clients, understanding their event requirements, and work alongside internal teams such as security, property services, suppliers, and contractors to ensure seamless event delivery. Responsibilities include ensuring health and safety issues are properly recorded and coordinating post-event debriefs to maximize client satisfaction and event quality.

This full-time, nine-month position is based at Go Media Stadium with regular work at North Harbour Stadium and Western Springs Bowl. While the standard schedule is Monday to Friday, event periods require flexibility, including evenings and weekends, compensated with time off in lieu.

About You

  • Prior experience in event coordination, venue operations, hospitality, or related areas.
  • Strong organizational skills with the capability to juggle multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship management skills, with a strong client-focused approach.
  • Confidence in liaising with clients, suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders to deliver successful events.
  • Familiarity with event management or financial platforms such as Momentus is advantageous; training will be provided if needed.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends during events.
  • Good physical fitness to manage the hands-on requirements of the role.
  • A qualification in Event Management or a related field is desirable but not mandatory.

What We Offer

This is an excellent chance to grow your event management experience by working with diverse stakeholders. You will become part of a friendly, collaborative, and enthusiastic team that is passionate about their work.

Equipment provided includes a work laptop and mobile phone. Additionally, employees benefit from various staff discounts and perks.
