Estimator - Multifamily Construction

About the Role

A prominent construction and facility services company is seeking a Multifamily Construction Estimator to be part of their team in Anaheim, CA. This position suits professionals who have hands-on experience in construction and can assess multifamily properties to establish detailed work scopes and accurate cost estimates for repairs, renovations, and addressing construction deficiencies.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect multifamily housing units to detect construction issues, damage, and necessary repairs.
• Create comprehensive scopes of work and cost estimations for renovation and repair projects within multifamily settings.
• Utilize Xactimate and other estimating platforms to prepare precise estimates.
• Conduct material and labor quantity calculations and analyze construction-related expenses.
• Examine construction drawings, specifications, and existing site conditions.
• Perform on-site inspections together with clients, sales staff, and insurance adjusters.
• Negotiate and communicate with insurance adjusters regarding pricing, scopes, and settlements.
• Offer construction and estimating insights to facilitate contract negotiations.
• Liaise among clients, adjusters, sales, operations, and administrative personnel during the bidding phase.
• Deliver accurate scopes and fixed-cost estimates to operations teams to support project execution.
• Ensure all bid documentation is complete and accurate.
• Assist with invoicing and project documentation when required.
• Identify construction challenges and devise practical, budget-conscious solutions.
• Travel to various project sites within the assigned area as necessary.

Qualifications and Skills

• Prior experience in construction estimating is mandatory, preferably with multifamily projects.
• Strong preference for candidates knowledgeable in Xactimate software.
• Familiarity with multifamily construction techniques, materials, and repair workflows.
• Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications.
• Experience performing material and labor takeoffs.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Effective collaboration skills working with clients, subcontractors, contractors, insurance adjusters, and internal teams.
• Good customer service orientation and cooperative mindset.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with Procore, Sage, or NAV software is an advantage.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license and capability to travel to project locations.
