About the Role

A well-established manufacturer of specialized equipment with a national footprint is starting an exciting developmental program and is looking to hire an Estimator in Caerphilly, Wales. This role plays a key part in supporting the company's growth plans.

Responsibilities

• Preparing cost estimates for projects
• Conducting site surveys
• Proposing value engineering solutions to clients
• Measuring fence lines and gate sizes from drawings (takeoffs)
• Negotiating terms and pricing with customers
• Collaborating with the purchasing team to maintain current pricing information
• Communicating with suppliers to obtain pricing details
• Handling incoming enquiry calls
• Managing and overseeing the handover process

Qualifications and Experience

• Prior experience in estimating roles
• Background working with large contractors
• Familiarity with construction workflows such as instructions, variations, mobilisation costs, and retention procedures
• Competency in taking off drawings accurately
• Experience collaborating within teams to ensure seamless handover from Sales to Contracts
• Ability to conduct cost reviews following job completion

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary range between £30,000 and £40,000 per year
