Role Overview
This full-time role is based both on the road and in the office, operating out of Horsham. The Estimator will conduct site visits to measure spaces, evaluate site conditions, and gather detailed requirements related to carpet, vinyl, and LVT installations. Responsibilities include preparing detailed and itemized estimates, revising quotations following customer feedback, and collaborating with internal teams including office and installation crews to ensure accurate scheduling, materials planning, and cost oversight. The Estimator will also engage with clients to explain pricing structures and options, while keeping meticulous records of measurements, quotes, and amendments.
Qualifications and Skills
- Capability to perform precise on-site measurements and transform them into clear, comprehensive estimates
- Strong numerical aptitude with a basic understanding of cost calculation, margin analysis, and material consumption
- Effective communication skills for clarifying estimates to customers and liaising with internal teams
- Organizational ability to handle numerous quotes, monitor amendments, and keep thorough documentation
- Comfortable working onsite at customer properties with measurement equipment
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and accuracy in quotations
- Basic proficiency with computers, including spreadsheet use and software such as ServiceM8 and Xero for quote preparation
- Prior experience in flooring, construction, or related estimating roles is advantageous
- Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transport for commuting to the office; a company-provided fully expensed works van is supplied for travel to customer sites around Horsham
