Role Overview
The Estimation Graduate will be a member of the Estimating team, gaining insight into the commercial and technical workflows necessary for preparing competitive tenders for significant M&E projects. Under the guidance of experienced estimators, engineers, and project personnel, this role involves working closely with project drawings, technical specifications, quantity assessments, supplier quotes, and tender documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development of estimates and tender submissions.
- Examine project drawings, specifications, and tender documents critically.
- Assist in performing quantity take-offs and calculating material requirements.
- Source and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Contribute to pricing preparation for tenders.
- Maintain detailed records and databases related to estimating activities.
- Participate in tender reviews and commercial comparisons.
- Coordinate with suppliers and internal departments as necessary.
- Provide general assistance to the Estimating team in project and tender related tasks.
Candidate Requirements
- Possession of a degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or a similar field.
- Strong numerical aptitude and analytical capabilities.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Competence in interpreting complex technical information.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Office suite.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Commercial awareness alongside a keen eagerness to learn and develop.
- Prior experience in construction or engineering sectors is a plus.
