Opportunity Overview

We are inviting applications for the role of Group Estimating Manager to lead and manage the estimating function within our Power & Renewables division. The successful candidate will have a strategic leadership role in delivering accurate and competitive tender solutions for large-scale energy projects. This role involves collaborating with senior leadership, engineering teams, and stakeholders to develop estimating strategies, mentor a skilled team, and uphold top-quality standards in all bids.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee estimating activities for Power & Renewables projects ensuring technical and commercial excellence.
• Drive high standards throughout tendering and bid management processes.
• Manage tender evaluations and facilitate commercial decision-making.
• Coach and nurture a team of estimators, fostering continuous improvement and teamwork.
• Collaborate with Business Unit Managers, Associate Directors, Engineering, Operations, and Commercial departments to produce superior tender submissions.
• Develop and maintain estimating systems, processes, best practices, and cost databases.
• Maintain project estimate registers and conduct win/loss analyses to optimize future bids.
• Represent the company during client and pre-construction meetings.
• Innovate estimating workflows enhancing efficiency, accuracy, and competitiveness.
• Ensure compliance with company standards regarding governance and information security during all estimating tasks.

Desired Qualifications and Experience

• Extensive leadership experience in estimating within Power, Renewables, Utilities, Energy Infrastructure, or related sectors.
• Solid commercial and technical knowledge of large infrastructure projects.
• Proven ability to lead and grow high-caliber estimating teams.
• Experience handling complex tenders from initial inquiry to final evaluation.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing abilities at various organizational levels.
• Excellent analytical skills and decisive problem-solving aptitude.
• Proactive, detail-focused approach combined with a commitment to continuous improvement.
• Comfortable engaging directly with clients, consultants, and executive leadership.
